Weixiong Rao

About Me

I am a Full Professor at the School of Computer Science and Technology, Tongji University. I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2009. Prior to joining Tongji University in 2014, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Computer Science, University of Helsinki (2011–2012) and the Computer Laboratory, University of Cambridge (2013).

I am looking for motivated Ph.D. and Master students interested in spatio-temporal data science, reinforcement learning and mobile computing. Please feel free to reach out via email (wxrao at tongji.edu.cn).

Research Interests

• Physical AI Simulation — AI models, e.g., Mesh Graph Networks, for Physical Simulation.
• Reinforcement Learning — RL for LLM post-training, Multi-agent reinforcement learning for route planning and state estimation.
• Mobile and Distributed Computing — Distributed data systems and intelligent services on mobile networks.
